Welcome to ELJO ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using our website (https://eljo.ai) and our AI-powered career services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").

2. The Service & AI Disclaimer

ELJO is an AI-powered career agent designed to assist with resume optimization, interview preparation ("Live Simulator"), and salary negotiation ("Offer Manager").

2.1 Artificial Intelligence Notice

Our Service utilizes Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI (provided by third parties such as Google). By using the Service, you acknowledge that:

• Accuracy: AI can generate incorrect, offensive, or misleading information ("hallucinations"). You should independently verify all advice—especially legal, financial, or salary negotiation scripts—before using them in real-world scenarios.
• No Professional Advice: ELJO is a software tool, not a human career counselor, lawyer, or financial advisor. The output is for informational purposes only.

2.2 No Guarantee of Employment or Salary

While our marketing materials may reference potential outcomes (e.g., "Secure your dream offer" or "Negotiate $5k-$15k more"), these are illustrative examples of potential results, not guarantees.

• We do not guarantee that you will receive a job offer, an interview, or a salary increase.
• We are not responsible for any rejection, job loss, or failure to negotiate a higher salary resulting from your use of our tools.

2.3 Marketing Claims

Advertisements for ELJO (including those on Facebook/Instagram) may reference potential career outcomes. These are illustrative examples and do not constitute a contractual guarantee of employment or specific salary increases.

3. User Accounts and Eligibility

• Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service.
• Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials (via Google Auth). You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
• Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate and current information (e.g., your CV data and salary details) to ensure the AI functions correctly.

4. User Content and Data

4.1 Ownership

You retain all ownership rights to the content you upload, including your Resumes/CVs, Job Descriptions, and "Story Bank" entries.

4.2 License to ELJO

By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you (e.g., sending your CV text to the AI API to generate a critique).

4.3 Prohibited Content

You strictly agree not to upload:

• Confidential trade secrets of your current/past employers.
• Illegal, harmful, or personally identifiable information of third parties (without their consent).
• Malicious code or viruses.

4.4 Marketing Consent

By accepting our marketing cookies or opting into our “Career Strategy” tips, you acknowledge that your interaction data may be used by ELJO and its advertising partners (like Meta) to personalise your experience and show you relevant offers.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

ELJO offers "Freemium," "Resume," and "Career" plans. Pricing is displayed on our website and may vary by region. Legacy "Pro" and "Elite" plans remain available for existing subscribers.

• Billing Cycle: Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly basis.
• Auto-Renewal: Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel it before the renewal date.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not provide partial refunds for unused time.
• Price Changes: We reserve the right to change our pricing tiers. We will provide notice of any price changes at least 30 days in advance.
• Global Refund & Cancellation Policy:

  Our refund policy is designed to be fair while protecting our intellectual property and API costs.

  United States & International (Non-EEA/KR): Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. You may cancel your subscription at any time to avoid future charges, but we do not provide partial refunds for the current billing month.

  UK, EU (EEA), and South Korea Consumers:

  • Right of Withdrawal: You have a statutory right to cancel your subscription within 14 days (UK/EU) or 7 days (South Korea) of purchase ("Cooling-off Period").
  • Waiver upon Performance: However, ELJO provides immediate access to digital content (AI analysis, reports, etc.). By using the Service (e.g., clicking "Analyze CV" or "Generate Report") during the Cooling-off Period, you expressly acknowledge that performance has begun and you strictly waive your right to a full refund.
  • The "Fair Use" Guarantee: If you have NOT used any AI features (0 credits used) during the Cooling-off Period, you are eligible for a 100% refund.
  • Technical Guarantee: If a technical error or system bug prevents the Service from generating your report, you are eligible for a 100% refund.*Note: If the automated system denies your request due to recorded usage, please email contact@eljo.ai with the subject "Technical Refund" for manual review.

  To request a refund under this policy, use the "Billing Support" link in your Account settings.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

• Our IP: The ELJO platform, including its source code, “CV Analyzer”, “CV Expert”, “Cover Letter Generator”, “Story Bank” tagging logic, "Live Simulator" simulation logic, "Cheat Sheet" designs, “Offer Manager” logic and the "CV Deep Dive", “Role & Team Deep-Dive” and “Company Deep-Dive Scraper” methodologies, is the exclusive property of ELJO.
• Restrictions: You may not:
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service.
  • Scrape or "crawl" any part of the website.
  • Use the Service to build a competing product.

7. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes:

• Attempting to "jailbreak" or trick the AI into generating harmful or illegal content.
• Sharing your account credentials with others (e.g., sharing a paid account with a friend).
• Overburdening our infrastructure or API quotas with excessive automated requests.

You agree to indemnify and hold ELJO harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of:

• Your violation of these Terms.
• Your use of the generated advice (e.g., if you use a generated negotiation script and your job offer is rescinded, you cannot hold us liable).
• Any content you upload that violates the rights of a third party.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users of the Service, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
